Martin Acoustic Contest

Friday, December 7th, 2007

Read contest update here.

Can I give you a Martin acoustic that retails for $1399.00?

Yup. I’m giving away a Martin D16GT as part of the celebration of the Acoustic Guitar Secrets release. This an amazing instrument. I hand selected it after playing dozens of acoustics. It’s the guitar I played during the shooting of the video and it’s what I used to record the 2 CD that come with the course.

Here’s the techical data from Martin’s website. And here are 80 reviews from D16GT owners that you can read here on the Musician’s Friend web site. Here’s what it looks like…

How To Enter The Contest:

It’s simple. Post your comment below and describe why you are excited about Acoustic Guitar Secrets and how you believe that you will benefit from the course. That’s it.

My staff read each entry and pick out the top three. Then you will vote on the winner. Whoever get’s the most votes, wins the guitar. The deadline for the last entry is midnight, Friday, Dec. 14.

Cheers!

Dan Denley

P.S. Here are some winners from past contests: Tina, Mark Lee and Ben Blomberg

About the video:
In the actual course, this particular lesson is about 5 minutes long. But we’ve shaved it down to just over a minute. But hopefully you’ll still be able to get the gist of what it’s about. Be sure to download the tab for this video before you watch. Enjoy!

Fingerpicking video

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

Hi Folks,

Here’s a video on fingerpicking basics from DVD 4 of Acoustic Guitar Secrets. Enjoy!

Tab for this video
NOTE: the pdf above gives you two pages directly from the Acoustic Guitar Secrets book. However, because we had to shorten the video for the web, only Figure 97 (Basic Fingerpicking Pattern, Ex. 1) and Figure 110 (Fingerpicking pattern: Descending, Ex. 1). You should definately play the other examples on your own!
Cheers,

Dan Denley

Photo: New Acoustic Guitar Secrets course!

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

Hey folks,

I finally got a picture of my new Acoustic Guitar Secrets course to show you. Here it is!

Photo: Acoustic Guitar Secrets

This thing is HUGE! 5 DVDs with nearly 7 hours of video, 2 full-length CDs and a massive book complete with tab, chords and strumming patterns.

And we have an “official” release date: Dec 12, 2007. There will be 1000 initial copies available. So, if you’re interested, you need to get on the first-run courses because the next batch won’t be available until about Feb, 2008.

Would you like to learn common acoustic patterns so you can play nearly any acoustic song? How about learning finger-style basics so you can create your melodies? How’d you like to walk into a music store with all the confidence in the world… pick up a $2500 Martin and turn every head in the store as you bust out old-school blues classics?

Well, if any of this sounds good to you, then Acoustic Guitar Secrets may be the answer you’ve been looking for.
