How to play a blues solo (video)

HOT NEWS! Finally, an EASY way to learn how to solo! One of the #1 problems for most guitarists is that once they learn scales, they can’t make the leap to actually playing a solo. We’ll I’ve finally figured out a way to solve that challenge!

It’s called, “50 Must-Know Blues Licks.” And it’s my new course.

CLICK HERE to check it out!

Here’s the method… Basically, I teach you 50 “must-know” blues licks which all come from the pentatonic scale. I explain how those licks are related to the scale so you understand WHAT your playing WHY. Then, I take the 50 licks and show you how to “cut-and-paste” them together to great an amazing solo. It’s easy!

This course is super-affordable because I don’t want anyone to get left out because of the price.

Here’s a video from my 50 Must-Know Blues Licks course

This text will be replaced

  1. Watch the video below to get an idea of how it works.
  2. Download the tab and learn the licks (or just pick a couple you really like).
  3. Download the jam track and try to improvise your solo! (Note your can right-click and choose “Save As” to download the track to your computer).

Cheers,

Dan Denley

Hey Dan. Great as always, thanks for the tab and jam track. You know what would really help though. If at the beginning of your vids if you can just give a quick run down on what you’re using to get your sound, gear and settings.

I just see a lot of videos of everyone giving lessons and you want to sound like what you see, and you just can’t get there. Between all the choices of reverb, delay, etc etc etc.
    Thanks, You ROCK !!

    Dan,

Very interested. I think you hit the nail on the head with being able to mess around versus playing a real solo.

    Thanks

I was in a music shop yesterday before going to work( I work evenings) and i’ve been there a few times eyeing up this beauty lol! a great sounding acoustic Im gonna own one day soon, because I’m more a fingerstyle player. So I put it down after warmng up a bit and walked on over to the electrics. I plucked the courage to ask could I try a strat and a telecaster. The guy in the store fixes me up with a nice vox amp and I’m sat there. Next thing these two death metal lookin dudes come in and one starts shredding the fretboard and Im like shit!…what would dan do!? lol!

    Heres to the music

  • Chappy Says:

This is awesome Griff! Do you play that well all the time,
or are you hyped on wheaties? Man, you can make that axe
talk, using what are, individually, relatively simple licks.
It’s the creative ability to lose yourself in the blues and to be about 2 or 3 licks ahead of your fingers in your mind, or wherever that talent lies.

Thanks for laying it out. I was having trouble figuring out what key you were playing in. It looked like G. But you were talking Bm and Am??

  • Dale Says:

Nice work and thank you Dan.(not Griff by the way Chappy)
