3 Critical Chords (video from Guitar Guru Secrets)
Ok, we’re coming down to the wire! Guitar Guru Secrets is scheduled for public release THIS Thursday, Sept 3 at 11:00AM EST (UTC - 5). This is going to be THE course for the beginner guitarist. You’re going to learn the absolute most critical techniques that you must know as a beginner. And we’re going get to you playing songs fast!
The biggest advantage of this course is that it’s truly a STEP-BY-STEP approach. Unlike 99% of other courses that are really just a bunch of random lessons thrown together, this course is a comprehensive approach to learning guitar.
And I also wanted this course to be VERY affordable. Especially because if you’re just trying to get the basics, you don’t want to spend a fortune, right? And private lessons can get EXPENSIVE. So, I think you’re going to be very pleased at the cost of this course…
I promise to let you know the exact price BEFORE Thursday (Sept 3). So, check out this video on minor chords. It’s from DVD 1 of Guitar Guru Secrets. Let me know what you think by posting your comment below!

Dan,
As always, good information for beginners and intermediates. The new way of doing vids with you superimposed on a blank background is kind of weird though. Your outline is kind of fuzzy, and it makes the whole thing rather distracting. Without spacial relationship, you are just kind of floating out there. Just my two cents.

Hello Dan
I had a HD meltdown and lost all of your stuff. Can you send me the links relating to internet marketing please.
Thanks in advance,
Mickey

I kind of like the blank background, made it easier for me to follow along. I thought it was sharp and distinct without the background distraction. Different stokes, I suppose…….

Good information, but aside from learning the chords, where do you take it from there? Is there a tune that you can use them in? The backround makes for some really weird effects while watching.

Always wanted to learn but find it hard to learn.

For me as a beginner the information is good. But it is only information about three cords.May be the video is to long only for that information.I am the one who is thinking about purchasing your Amazing Guitar secrets.Would be great to give more and more video examples pulled out from your CDs about lessons sections the student should get purchasing your Amazing Guitar Secrets. The reports from other AGS user are not so much helpful.

Dan! I’ve been receiving lots of videos from you but haven’t been able to access them. Whenever i enter your site it all gets confusing. Pls help.

Outstanding! I sincerely believe that after having several of your courses, something can still be learned. I will definitely be purchasing this course, even if only my son and grandson to use it. Sounds like another homerun.

Dan - Another terrific lesson. Excellent explanation and demonstration. You have got me fired up again about guitar.
August 31st, 2009 at 8:46 pm
Really like these videos with the chord diagrams displayed beneath the action. Much easier to follow.
Re: the ‘B major’ bar-chord - could you give some tips on finger stretching or strength ?? I have no trouble with the bar, but have trouble stretching my other three fingertips to the fourth fret of all 3 strings. This is absolutely THE HARDEST chord for me.
Thanks,
richard

Hi Dan,
Good video clip. I especially like the preview of upcoming chords: The barred F first fret and others up the neck. As a beginner I always wondered if you fall off of the world beyond the 4th fret(here there be dragons)so, an early intro is good.
What I like about your DVDs in addition to your concise and thorough explanations are the visual aids, as fret-finger positions and strumming inserts. As for background, I always liked the feel of a studio type background, never cluttered but not sterile.
Your DVD and other media instruction has been very good. I can see that you put in a lot of thought and effort as they continually get better.
Best regards, Jerry in Las Vegas

p.s.
I think the complaints from others about the video & audio issues are COMPUTER problems probably related to the speed of their internet connection.
Just an idea.

very straight forward, well instructed, easy to follow and darn good & the sound !!!!!! Thank’s once again Dan.

Why do you put information about cords you don’t want to do at this time. Stick with the “3″ you want us to learn. Tell us about what’s left out and tell us we will learn later in the beginners course. You throw the “C” chord in when it’s not part of the “3″. Yes it sounds good but again we have to learn these chords before we go on.
I enjoy your tips and email videos.
Keep it up,
Steve

The dark shirt and background look weird. A little extra lighting from the side or back might help. I always enjoy your videos Dan,you have an excellent teaching style. When you give information, with the demonstration it helps to capture what you are trying to teach. I just purchased the 3 video set of Acoustic Secrets. I would buy all your videos but its a little out of my price range. I don’t suppose you barter?

I like the simplicity of it. It’s very easy to understand, unlike some of the courses I’ve taken. Keep up the good work……..thanks

The audio as repeatedly expressed needs improving. The use of a single camera fails to show the actual fingering position on the fret board. Wonder if a 2nd camera doing a close up of the fret board will help. The instuction is not on strumming but the fingering of cords and their progressions. Cheers

I thought the video was great. Good intro showing what you can do. That’s all I would show differing from the lesson. If viewers would look at the chord diagram the question of finger placement would be answered. I like the guitar with no effects so the chord can be heard. I also thing the video and audio problem is in the computer, not your presentgation. Keep doin what you’re doing, from a friend that has beein playing since 1963.

Hey Guru Dan.
Love you soo much. I happend to buy three guitar dvd s which I owned allready. So youre confusing me with your sales, arrgh. But fortunately I have a daughter who is beginning to play the guitar and theese dvd s can become a part of her birthsday prescence. But I had hope for more skille for my self, at first, because, nothing is better than to be able to play more good notes.
Nice day, great guy this ‘Dan our man!!

That Dm is a new one for me. Sounds like it could be very useful. I still have trouble with chords that require a long stretch even though my hands are farily large. I tend to use Em, D position up and down the neck
as well as D7, Am E C and G mostly. I still struggle w/ F.

Nice C.F. Martin!! is it a D28? What a ring! Thanks

Dan….. I have played guitar on and off for many years but I need some retraining to get the theory and note reading into my head. I would like to learn more styles of playing … right now I play a wide range of chords, and recognize the sound differences between the chord families but I’m weak on scales, I play chord or partial chord arpeggios and have a good ear for “making up” chords I don’t know the names of and then connecting the dots to make real music. However… I am poor at reading notes and theory even though I did study some classical guitar many years ago.
I’m interested in Celtic guitar music, classical, R & B, POP, and creating my own stuff. I love music like Gordon Lightfoot, Beatles, and modern stuff I have no name for.
I love…. Latin guitar too.
Will the Guitar Guro Secrets course be of use to me even though I am not exactly a beginner?
Will it help me ‘fix’ some bad habits and open up some new thinking and things to practice??
Let me know your opinion ASAP> I’m a 55 year young Canadian and I think you are an excellent teacher of guitar. I am just not sure what and where to start with in terms of learning more.
More music styles…. more chord construction…. more scales etc….

Michael…though you aren’t an absolute beginner, this course would still help you. It starts at the beginning, but as the student gets better, the lessons get a little deeper. You would just get a little refreshment on ending those bad habits. Keep playing!
