How To Play A Solo… Blues Style!
This lesson is from DVD 8 of Blues Guitar Secrets 2.0. After being off the market for six months, the course will be available again on Thursday, July 16, 2009. And I’ve decided to bring back the introductory price (same as Dec 2008) for the first week. But on July 24, I’m raising the price. I just want to give you major “heads-up” that the price will be going up, so if you need to get in early.
After all, this is a HUGE, 10-disk course. 100% dedicated to teaching you the blues. And frankly, some of my customers have emailed me saying that it’s too cheap.
Anyway, here’s today blues guitar lesson…
NOTE: At the end of the video it says to download the tab and jam tracks go to JustBluesGuitar.com. But you do NOT need to that! I’ve given them to you right here…
Jam Track (rhythm only)
Jam Track (with solo)
(Right-click and “Save As…” to save to your computer).
Will you do me a BIG favor… and help me get the word out about my blues course?
Here’s how:
- Click the “YouTube” logo on the video above. (This will take you to YouTube).
- Then click “Share” link under the video.
- Share this video with your friends!
Cheers,
Dan Denley

Quite good Dan. Thanks for the lesson and the files.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:25 am
Hey Dan, weird question, but: what gauge strings do you typically use?
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:25 am
“Cheap” is relative. If you’re living on $600/month Social Security, $100 is almost a week’s “salary”. I’m sure I’m not alone in that regard. Bills take 80-90% of that $600 (which, btw, works out to $2/day).
Price “cheap” for people like me, or put some kind of payment scheme in place.
Thanks, Dan. I have bought some of your stuff in the past, and would really like to continue, but pricing and payment are key here.

I like your stff but cannot well your hands in the strings and understand what you are doing, The tabs are way to complicated for beginners. Need to break down slower for guys like me. I have one of your courses and it just sits thee due to difficult. You a schooled musician, Guys like us have to see and memorize.

Thanks for the video, Dan. I really like it. I’ve bought several guitar courses off the internet, but I don’t use most of them because they lose me. Your teaching method, for me, is by far the best and easiest to understand. Looking forward to Blues Guitar Secrets 2.0
(and seeing what it will cost). Hope to be able to buy it.

The video is tough for a hack like myself, but with a little work and repetition it comes together pretty easily.
Thanks tons, I figure it comes to practice and practice the scales, if I can master as many scale forms/patterns that I can, well then I cant see how the rest connt be figured out when the foundation is solid.
But what the hell do I know, only what seems to work for me.
Cheers Dan.

Looks good so far. It would really HELP if your layout was the same for rhythm (gtr3) and solo (gtr1) parts. When looking at the music in the PDF file, the rhythm part is laid out nicely with four bars per line/staff, but the solo part is variable with 3-5 bars per line. Just a suggestion.

Great demo … Love the way you teach this stuff! Please mention what effects you are using; echo, delay, reverb or what … I love the sound that you have.
July 9th, 2009 at 2:10 am
this is good blues instruction. the basics are covered and you start out with something that is possible for blues aspiring guitarists to achieve quite easily and in a short time. I like the good explanation of the timing…to me that is the most difficult component to learn and understand.

THanks for the video Dan,was very helpful.

Hi Dan,
I so want to play the blues. You have no clue how desperate I am to play blues solo and improvise. Can you please kindly let me know if this is the course that will teach me how to improvise on a 12 bar blues and learn blues ? Also, can you let me know the difference between blues 2.0 and lead guitar secret ? Do I need to buy them both ?
Looking forward to hear from you soon.
Regards,
Arvind

Hey Dan,
I know this is probally real unusual for a wife to be entering to win, but I would like to win this for him because he is so impressed with your abilities. He has such a passion for all genre’s of music. Blues is probally his favorite but he feels he can’t master it. So, I believe that with this course study, it would build his confidence in this genre. So, he mentioned to me that you were having this drawing and I decided I would try to win it for him. He is very passionate about music, he plays all the time and he also works with our 4 and 6 year old boys to get them involved with music. I appreciate your time and your talent.
Keep impressing everyone with your amazing talent, you truly are gifted in playing and teaching.
Sincerely,
Belinda Mullins, proud wife of an amazing man.

Hi Dan;
Great solo.
However, I can follow you, but had to backup to be sure, too many times, thru out the your demo/lesson. I’ve been playing quit a while(years), it seems your aiming at more expirenced players. The beginners can’t follow as fast as your going.
Maybe slow down and pause more, the beginner has to process what you’ve just said and what they’ve just seen. Other wise they will get frustrated going back to repeat so many times, to be sure they got it. One more thing pause at the hammered notes.
Otherwise your on the right track.
Good luck.
Respectfully
Mike
