I got the book (it’s a .pdf file, you need Acrobat to open). It looks great. I’ve thumbed through it and it seems to have everything in all the positions. Maybe it gets a bit redundant, but you can’t have too much info, can you? Well written and informative. Odd page numbers are in the wrong corner of the page, I can live with that.
Thanks a bunch. Keep the good info coming.
August 26th, 2008 at 9:19 am
The book downloaded fine for me.
I’m new to learning guitar so I can’t really comment on the contents. However, I will suggest that you use a more reader friendly font. The font you used was difficult to read. Especially on my computer.

hey….i just now recieved the pdf. its opening fine…….
August 27th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
Very cool compilation of information. It’s a good way to learn how to put it all together and move it around. I just read in ten minutes what took me ten years to learn on my own. Great product!

Dan, let me tell you that this is amazing!! The way you explain and put it all together make things very easy for me…I’m a pattern follower by nature and this is exactly what I need to learn fast. This is the first time I see TABs and movable patterns but I got the concept really quick.
I was watching part 2 from the free lesson schedule you sent me but I can’t see how to download the MP3 files you refer to in the video…
Thanks a lot!

Dan the man,
Thank you for the book. It taught quite a few new scales. Although I knew some of the scales I had the wrong key names =P so this book really helped in that aspect as well. I was curious though, I could not find the MPEG audio files or where to download them, could you help me out? Much appreciation, I look forward to the rest of the emails.

I LOVE THIS GUY HE SHOULD BE IN THE SPOTLIGHTS
October 19th, 2008 at 5:43 pm
Dan,
You really need to get a better proof reader! This Document list the first position of the “A” minor Penetonic, which in fact should be the second Positon. when you get to the 4th position it’s not listed at all. the only correct positon that I can see is the 5th position. I didn’t go any further then that I was too discussed. This will really confuse “BEGINERS”. I don’t believe that was your intent.
Sorry Dan “woopsie” dosen’t cut it
Please tell me I am wrong!
October 20th, 2008 at 8:24 am
Hey shiftystewart…
Yah, agreed.
Actually, it’s not a mistake. I used to teach it that way because those positions are related to the diatonic minor scale.
But you’re right. It just confused the heck out of most people.
So, I’ve since abandoned that concept and teach it the “regular” way.
Thanks for the positive criticism!
Cheers,
Dan Denley

Dear Dan
The scales look quite comprehensive together with the licks.I have been playing guitars for about 44years and never had formal training.I think your book soloing on the pentatonic will be very helpful.Thank you very much and greatly indebted.
cheers
john
October 23rd, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Hi Dan,
After reading shiftystewart’s comments and your reply I am a little confused. Do you now teach the positions differently in your courses than as shown on the PDF? Also please explain what you mean when you said, “I used to teach it that way because those positions are related to the diatonic minor scale.”
Warmest regards,
Bob

Maybe an idea for a next one.

November 11th, 2008 at 5:18 am
Men i like this one!!cause it really cool
November 11th, 2008 at 11:23 am
Dan- thanks so much for your courses and all of the tips you share for free. I have really improved because of them. In regard to the Pentatonic .pdf I have a question. On pg 16 you give an example of the G Major Pent. scale with cords. But the notes and pattern are not a first position scale from what I can tell. Am I missing something. Shouldn’t the notes be G,A,B,D,E. The book shows G,A,C,D,E. Cheers.
November 14th, 2008 at 9:05 am
Hi boss its realy very nice, but I was searching for a book with a very clear introduction and the complete theory about Scales. Included Major and Minor
November 15th, 2008 at 10:28 am
Dan: This is the kind of info I would like to learn. There are quite a few steps to learn. Think I can’t see the forest for the trees. Generally when I study long I study wrong. Usually eventually it becomes clear. I know that if I can absorb these patterns it will allow me to utilize the guitar much bette. Sure like your e mail spot you send to us. The patterns in your book Pentatonic Scales, show two open circle notes and numerous black circle notes, I think the open circles are major notes? Are the black circle notes indicators that you can play any of these notes when you are in this pattern and they will be proper?
November 16th, 2008 at 10:29 pm
Dan, thanks for the pentatonic scales book. The scales are what I’m really looking for now and the book was right on time. Thanks. Jodie

Just reviewed the 40 page e-book. If this is free, I can’t wait to receive the full course. Yes, I immediately ordered the course after reviewing the free e-book. I played guitar as a hobby many years ago. I haven’t played in 20 years, and would like to start again. It’s true, if you don’t use it you’ll lose it. If your free e-book is a sign of what to expect in the full course. Learning will be easy and fun. I’ve been searching the internet for a few weeks and haven’t found anything basic, solid, and fun.
December 13th, 2008 at 12:37 pm
thanks for the free book.i think that you do i great job making what you teach very easy to understand.i’ve been playing for 30 years.i’m trying to get out of playing’in the box’.it’s strange that when you start you spend years learning those shapes & years later you try breaking out of them but they are the backbone of great guitar music
December 14th, 2008 at 10:43 am
This is a great web freebie. Good information, well explained. Extreamly helpful for a beginner or someone just getting started with scales. Even for someone with some experance, there is lots good info in this.

December 18th, 2008 at 11:15 pm
Thanks for the freebie! Looking forward to sitting down with it. God bless you.
December 19th, 2008 at 7:46 pm
Dear Dan,
I think I have copies of most of your courses. I have found all of them to be very helpful. In fact, some where on your pages my smiling face is still giving a testimonial.
Needless to say I was delighted with the freebie. I downloaded it and went to FedexKinko’s to get it bound into a loose leaf binder. I do that with all of my important guitar stuff.
I played through it over the past few days. It is very logical and should give anyone seeking to learn a very good grasp on some of the basics of music theory. You even had a few configurations in there that seemed a bit new to me.
The bottom line is it is good stuff. Now I already have your Blues Secrets course along with several others like Amazing Guitar Secrets and Lead Guitar Course. It makes me wonder just what new info have you included in this latest update!
I am sure it is really great. Thanks again Dan .

Thank-you for unlocking the mystery. Been strumming and note plucking and chording a long time but never much past the 5th fret on notes. Your guide has made it faster and easier to learn and enable me to really get to know and utilize the entire fretboard.

December 27th, 2008 at 3:05 pm
Dan I have purchased just about everything you have sold and sometimes I did not know I purchased some material already soI gsve them to my friends. My Amazing Guitar Secrets book has been through some rough times. This is one of the greatest book with the DVD’s is my favorite. Its the easiest for me to relate to. You have a real casual way or presenting your ideas relating to the material. If you mess up on a cord lets say,you have an attitude like woop’s and start over. It shows me your just like we all are, human. I try to practice everyday but working 12 hours a day and 7 days a week its hard. Its ready to slow down. In the mean time I keep buying more guitars,amps,gt8,pandora box. I practice in the summer on my boat in Lake Washington. Not to piss anyone off headphones are a must. Were getting things to gether to have a jam off with friends who play guitars and bass with a beat from the pandora box. Anyone who comes to my house to practice with me will see your dvd’s and I have not seen one person say a word, just glued to the big screen. Can you do me 2 favors. One is to please send me another book, and I will pay you,and try not to cough as much as you do. When I have headphones on and turned up,Its just like a chalkboard with your nails. It one thing that interupts your flow in getting your out of the groove. Just being honest. John
