In the actual course, this particular lesson is about 5 minutes long. But we’ve shaved it down to just over a minute. But hopefully you’ll still be able to get the gist of what it’s about. Be sure to download the tab for this video before you watch. Enjoy!

December 4th, 2007 at 11:45 pm
I’m amazed by this link because of the timing and fast movement of fingers and picking in an acoustic guitar!
December 5th, 2007 at 12:42 am
Excellent Dan. I’ll be ordering your “Acoustic Guitar Secrets” course.
If you have included some Ragtime and Boogie it will be perfect.
Thanks for you awesome works.
December 5th, 2007 at 12:56 am
Let’s see……..Amazing Guitar Secrets..check
Blues Guitar Secrets..check
Lead Guitar Secrets..check
Acoustic guitar Secrets…whoops..better add a date to my calendar so I can continue on my AMAZING journey!!!
After winning the strat earlier this year, I won’t be entering the contest for the Martin as my wife bought me one for my birthday in 1981. However, I will be ordering your new course because of my complete respect for your teaching, customer service and the fact that my strides towards becoming the guitarist I’ve always dreamed of becoming have come to fruition due to you and your work!
God Bless you and your students!

December 5th, 2007 at 10:36 am
Love all your courses I have purchased. This will be great on my only old acoustic and encourages me to work harder. I started picking it up more lately and with this new course I will order makes me excited. I favor acoustic, it’s not like playing elect and should really be helpful of my desires.
December 5th, 2007 at 11:23 am
Enjoyed the lesson, very good
December 5th, 2007 at 1:29 pm

December 5th, 2007 at 8:05 pm
Dan
This Blues lesson was great . I have learned a lot from your freebies and your videos that I have bought. K.eep up the great work ,I realy enjoy everything you have put out.
Bud
December 5th, 2007 at 9:06 pm
Acoustic freebies have been very good Dan. My only concern about buying this course is camera angles. The video seems to switch back & forth between left and right hands.. it’d be nice to have two cameras so I can concentrate where I need to when learning. Can you please clarify how the actual course shows hand positions..
Thanks.
December 5th, 2007 at 9:07 pm

December 7th, 2007 at 1:45 am
Great, Dan. Thanks a lot. Just let me know when your course will be available.
December 7th, 2007 at 10:53 am
Thank you!
December 7th, 2007 at 3:49 pm
Dan every video you send I cant’ watch. The picture is clear but moves very slowly and sound is distorted. I’m told it is “buffering” whatever that means and it shows a percentage that increases but then starts again. Do you know what the problem is?
December 7th, 2007 at 5:09 pm
Graeme,
Hmmm. I don’t konw, man. Question: Are you on a speedy connection like DSL or Cable? Because you won’t be able to watch on dial-up.
Dan
December 7th, 2007 at 9:11 pm
That inspired me even more,to play that would even make my guitar sound great
December 8th, 2007 at 2:15 pm
Now that is good…
December 8th, 2007 at 3:31 pm
Acoustic guitar is my nemesis,, This could be the key that i’ve been waiting for.. Great work Dan.. Keep em coming…….
December 8th, 2007 at 10:46 pm
great video Dan, love your work.
I have your Amazing Guitar Secrects, and your Blues Guitar Secrets, and they are awesome!
Graeme, ‘buffering’ is when your pc is downloading a part of the video
a small buffer means that you need to have a fast internet connection to see the video’s smoothly.
a fictional example:
we wanna see a 3 min vid, and your buffer is set to lets say: 10 seconds, but it takes 12 seconds to buffer…
what happends is that you’ll be waiting 12 seconds for the first 10 seconds to start.. while those 10 seconds are playing (or paused), your pc starts downloading the next 10 seconds (0:10 to 0:20), that is called buffering.
if downloading those 10 seconds takes longer than 10 secs, you’ll have to wait every 10 seconds…
press the play button, and then press pause. wait for a while (so your pc has time to buffer the whole video), and press play again.
not sure if it’ll work (I don’t have those issues), this ‘trick’ also works with youtube videos
I hope this helps!
Cheers,
Vincent

i bought your amazing guitar 2.0 and for some reason the cd i got with the scales did not work just hummed loud could i get one that works please
December 14th, 2007 at 1:09 pm
This lesson looks very compelling. It probably is simple but it adds as lot of interest to the strumming of the guitar.
This particular video did not have the hesitations that some of the other ones have had.
December 15th, 2007 at 10:13 am
Hi Dan,
I don’t think it has sunk in yet with our granddaughters yet that the combined order we placed for Amazing Guitar Secrets AND ACOUSTIC GUITAR SECRETS. is for them and me, but it will. Our oldest granddaughter has a b’day coming up on Dec 24, and I don’t dare give it away what we are giving her, but she is going to need something to go with that lesson, and remember those 3 “average” acoustics I mentioned in my post in the contest? Well, when I “sold” myself, I also made a decision at the same time what to do with the newer one.
I’ll figure out what to do with the other ones eventually, DEPENDING on their interest level. Thanks for the contest, because it really lit a fire in me to order. That made it really worth while, no matter what the outcome is. You sure know how to generate a lot of enthusiasm Dan. Keep up the good work. Will be watching anxiously to see the outcome, whenever your staff decides.
Thanks again. K.L.

Just a beautiful way to play an acoustic.Let me know when I can get a copy!!!
March 6th, 2008 at 12:47 pm
Dan, Today i stumbled across your “Pork” video. Any tips on how to play the bass note at the same time your playing the melody ? I seem to be stumbling on that. I play jazz and elecrtic blues. I have allways had trouble with the running of bass notes while playing the melody or lead. If you can help you will have a new fan for sure. Either way i will check out your cources. Thanx for your insight.

As always, another high quality Dan Denley Lesson…
You always make it look so much easier than it is in practice but then again if it was easy we wouldn’t need to practice daily.
Nice local flavor sound .. All in all a very cool piece.
March 7th, 2008 at 5:39 am
So I have to have DSL to access your materials?
March 7th, 2008 at 7:29 am

Hi,
Great videos , I’m teaching myself to play acoustic blues guitar after 25+ years of playing upright bass in various bands ( still playing upright though ! ) - I would like to buy your DVD’s but can’t find anywhere that says how much they cost . Can you let me know ?
Thanks,

March 9th, 2008 at 7:41 pm
wow!!!!pulled pork,i dig it,this is the first time my finger pickin sounded ok!!!!
March 9th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
Hi Dan, I bought your AGS course and am plowing through it. Your blues “pulled pork” is awesome but I am having trouble picking what strings you are plucking for the melody. You are very quick with your fingers and I am having trouble tracking them on your right hand. Can you point out what strings you are picking.
Thanks for all the info, ideos and support. I am not learning as fast as I had hoped and get lost easily in the sea of information. Do you have any tips for me??
Cheers Andrew in Australia

Dan, you never cease to amaize me, this video and I gotta be honest, simply kicked ass, Thank you Dan very, very, very, much, please send more in this style, again thank you Lloyd Hamilton lloham54@hotmail.com
March 13th, 2008 at 8:10 pm
This is one awesome song and you are one awesome player. Just wish you could answer some of my questins that I send you.
I am working hard on pulled pork. Where on earth did you get a name like that!!!
What is the DVD that you are advertising? I have the Amazing Blues and Guitar packages and I see you keep referring to the Blues for the purchase of this disc???
Just keep thos lessons coming as they are the greatest learning tool becasue they are in complete packages and very motivational.
You must eat sleep and drink guitar man!!!
March 14th, 2008 at 10:47 am
I am very interested in learning the guitar however I am almost 70 years old and my hands lack the freedom of movement that is so evident in your videos. I am somewhat convinced that further pursuit of this venture would only produce frustration on my part.
Thank you and best wishes
Chuck

Gibson les paul
That’s my Les Paul! It’s being played by Jeremy, Son Of Cory, the man who located my old guitar for me and helped me negotiate a deal to buy it back. Rock out, Jeremy!

Hi Dan - love your courses and often check your website. I was wondering if you would consider building RSS feeds into the site? This would be a cool way to be notified of all your updates.

Hi, Dan,
This is great and for the first time I can hear the real melody from the ascoutic guitar. That is why I always like asc. guitar because the sound is so natural and impersonating to hear if played well. Thank you.

I just wanted to thank you for all the stuff you put out there. I browse the internet for tips and help all the time, and your stuff is really helpful. Thank you for taking the time to help us beginners out.
I really like this particular lesson. It really isn’t that hard (I can’t play it as easily as you, but I am hopeful).
Thanks again!

nice voice lol honestly… if you ever make a band, I’m going to tell everyone just because you are probably way better than most guitar players from most bands out there.

Dan,
This type of slow picking is very appealing. As a beginner/intermediate player (don’t we all overstate our abilities!) I’ve tried it and the finger pattern came fairly quickly. I need to work on the timing, sometimes I “hurry” the bass string pick out of rhythm, especially when the other fingers are involved.
I also wanted to take time to tell your fans, especially those, like me, that are learning to move around the neck, that your “How To Solo with the Major, Minor and Blues Pentatonic Scales” course is the best I’ve seen to date. Many others explain CAGED and the various patterns or boxes, but few provide the concise, easy to learn pattern connecting the boxes/patterns to play all over the neck. My buddies are amazed at how much I’ve improved.
Anyone wanting to get out of the first and third position and really experience the fun of playing CONFIDENTALLY, up and down the neck, should grab this course!
Thanks for all you’ve helped me with.

Great song
great video, I learn a lot from these
March 5th, 2009 at 2:54 pm
Awesome tune.
It’s cool that you pointed out the bass/melody relationship,
I found after learning only a couple of acoustic blues tunes it became easier to solo over music and backing tracks because it gave me a feel for where and when to play my riffs.
Thank you for the tab to this tune, I find acoustic blues realy fun to play and this tune is cool.
Take it easy

I like picking but haven’t had as much opportunity as I would like, so this gives me another chance… extremely appreciated!

Dan,
When I watch the video and compare to the tab provided I notice a difference. You slide up the neck and the tab shows a pulloff going down the neck. The pulloff would be A,G natural,E. Why the difference. I seem to be the only one to notice.

Hey Duke,
Sorry about the difference. Sometimes I don’t play it exactly as written, I just improvise a little. Thanks for pointing out the error though!
March 11th, 2009 at 1:46 pm
Hey John,
Sorry this took awhile. I usually use 9s. anything heavier could warp my guitar over time. Unless I was going to set it up for slide and use a heavier string,
but I usually play 9s
