Video Guitar Lesson #3
What’s up!?
I hope all is well…
I wanted to get this to you earlier in the week,
but I’ve been incredibly busy working on some
new stuff. Whew! Anyway, here’s a new video
lesson for you.
Check it out!
You can get the guitar tab for this video here.
Cheers!
Dan Denley
P.S. I’ve gotten HUNDRENDS of emails from my students
about the video lessons that I’ve been creating lately.
Everyone seems to love them! That’s cool. I hope they’re
helping you, too. BTW, I really want to make sure I’m
teaching what you want to learn, so please leave your
comments below!

Hay Dan How about some close ups of the fret bord while you show us this gr4eat stuff?
November 17th, 2006 at 1:41 pm
Hey Mark,
Sure man. I usually do that. But I included the tab this time. It’s the blue link called, “guitar tab”. Hope that helps.
Cheers!

Awesome, this stuff I can use forever. Way to go. By the way, I ordered all 4 guitar leads CD’s, even though I missed the special pricing. Fishing in Alaska I didn’t get to my emails in time. Tomorrow I’ll email you for the video to them. Great job.

Hey Dan,
I dig the format for these lessons. It’s like you are sitting in my living room giving me a private lesson teaching me what I want to learn instead of what a teacher teaches dozens of other students in a canned curriculum. Great job!
December 28th, 2006 at 3:23 am

January 20th, 2007 at 2:51 am
I was afraid I would have to go back into the dark with a PC. Since I went through the four lessons you sent via Safari on my mac, I guess I will have to buy the whole thing. Thanks Dan, and I’m a ways past fifty and didn’t take up the guitar again till I retired at 60.

Dan, Thankyou for the free lessons. They are great. I have ordred your Blues Guitar Secrets course and am anxiouisly awaiting it.
January 23rd, 2007 at 2:40 am
Dan, great video. Any advice for those of us who can barely finger across four frets? Yes, I am jealous of you guys who can finger across six or more frets, let along barre + 5 frets! What’s a mere mortal to do?
January 24th, 2007 at 10:36 pm
I’ll have to practice the 7th fret on the B chord. How do I grow an extra finger?
January 25th, 2007 at 1:27 pm
MY FINGERS ARE GETTING SORE. BUT AM STILL PRACTICING.
January 26th, 2007 at 3:03 pm
Hi Dan,
Just recieved your course. The videos are
great and the tabs make it easier for me to learn the material.
Thanks, Gene
January 26th, 2007 at 5:34 pm
Good stuff but respectfully, all I’ve seen is pretty much beginner stuff and all acoustic. Do you have electric and more advanced stuff available. If so, I would love to see some samples. Thank you,
Michael Clifton.

The lessons are really helpful, but sometimes it’s hard to pick out your exact strumming pattern, can you include that on the tabs and notation?
Thanks!

Dan
I,ve just watched lesson 3.The idea of doing the sequence and then slowing it down is well appreciated.
I like the way you give the finger placement and the explanation of the rhythm sound.
I am waiting for lesson 4 to see close up movement of your fingers. This is a key point for me to understand
and pick up speed.
You mentioned Drummers beat..thanks I am
starting to understand more.
regards John.in Paris

Dan, great sound. I noticed others asking about streching their fingers to reach the notes. The same applies to me. Any exercises or suggestions? Clete

Hay Dan How about some close ups of the fret bord while you show us this great stuff? i’m using glasses to see what you’re doing!
February 1st, 2007 at 7:04 pm
It is cool.

I’ve had your BGS about 2 weeks now and it’s been really adictive. One thing nice about having this is I can ask stupid questions. I’ve learnd the scales, it’s really helped me. The stupid question is in each scale we have the white root note and black notes as well. My question is I can’t figure out what the other white dots in cord A for example means. Please fill me in.
Thanks John
February 2nd, 2007 at 8:01 pm
Great stuff Dan… Keep em comin! any chance of a bigger video screen? or onscreen tabs of the chords at least? more advanced samples please!
February 13th, 2007 at 12:33 pm
John: the white notes are the ROOT note of the scale. For example, if it’s a G pentatonic, the white notes for each pattern is G. The black notes are the other notes of the scale.

Hi Dan: Thanks for sharing some great Guitar stuff. It appears that there is a large demand out there for blues style playing. I am new to this type of chording. Bill

Dan, no one can ever accuse you of not explaining clearly enough. I really appreciate the amount of time you take to hammer home a point. Keep up the good work. I am enjoying these lessons.

I just want to thank you Dan, I am enjoying putting the theory into practice via your videos..at age 60 plus, I thought it was impossible to play guitar at all never mind well, but now I know it isnt, I think I might just be able to play guitar, not perfetly, but for my own pleasure, sooner than later..thanks so much ..Tessa

THANK YOU SO MUCH , I’M GETTING ALOT BETTER AND THESE VIDEO’S ARE GREAT
THANKS FOR THE HELP
May 28th, 2007 at 2:08 am
Pretty thorough, Dan,
But, the B stretch is way too much for many people. Why not mix it up, and throw in a strummed B7 chord?
May 28th, 2007 at 4:11 am
awsom content Dan, Will definately buy the videos, lovin the lessons!!!!
May 28th, 2007 at 11:02 pm
Hi Dan,
That finger stretch on the “B” chord OUCH! So, instead of playing in “E” I drop to “A”. Using A=I (5th string), D=IV (4th string), and E=V (6th string). A little different sound, but it works. It’s just easier for me.
May 29th, 2007 at 7:44 am
hey man i love the blues but i feel kind of dumb for asking, is this blues only or do u do rock?
May 30th, 2007 at 3:42 pm
The coolest thing about your lessions is that you slow down to let everyone see what you are doing.. For me that is wonderful cause learning from other people can be very hard. I have found it very easy to watch you and learn from as well. Thanks a million again. I cannot get enough of your videos! Take it easy..
May 31st, 2007 at 7:16 pm
why did you use a strech from the 5 to
the 10 a lot of people can’t make it
June 4th, 2007 at 1:25 am
Great job Dan. Very clear and easy to understand. Even though we are given tabs, sometimes closeups are good too. Cheers.
June 6th, 2007 at 10:56 am
isee all the but i not hear inglish well.
June 13th, 2007 at 9:49 am
Hi Dan. I just watched the 3rd lesson above and I counted the beats at the beginning. You’ve played like your chorus was 12 and 1/2 bars long (!) instead of 12! Have you done it on purpose?
Check it please!!!
Cheers.
