New Jam Tracks For Penatonic Scales Book: Hey fol…
New Jam Tracks For Penatonic Scales Book:
Hey folks, how ya’ll doin’?
Hope you’re doing well. I made a trip to see the doctor today. I had a physical. And the news was NOT good.
I’m basically 40lbs overweight, my cholesterol is too high, blood pressure is up and I’m borderline diabetic! But other than that, I’m in great shape! Sheesh.
I guess that’s what I get for eating all that lovely southern food like buttery grits, fried steak, and turnip greens with smoked, ham-hock for over thirty years. From now on it’s going to be rice-cakes and celery. Yummy. Oh well…
Anyway, I was thinking that it would be pretty cool to have some jam tracks to practice your
soloing skills. So I recorded several rhythm tracks to go along with the “How To Solo Pentatonic Scale Book” that I gave you.
How To Download The Jam Tracks:
Right-Click on the link below and choose, “Save Target As…” (or “Save Link As…” if you’re using FireFox). This will save the “jamtracks_pentatonic.zip” file to your hard drive. After the file is fully downloaded, double click it. Then choose “Extract all files” from the left side of the screen and follow the instructions. These files are .mp3’s so they’ll play using any software that can play an mp3 file. (If you’re using a Mac, you probably know what to do. But I think you’ll need a program called, “StuffIt” to open the zip file.)
Here’s The Link:
Now, I’m not a recording guru. So, the quality of the tracks are not exactly “studio” quality. But, they will get the job done: providing you with a rhythm track to solo over.
Instructions For Using The Jam Tracks:
I’ve named each jam track by giving you a the pentatonic scale you should use. For example, one of the files is called, “b_blues_pentatonic.mp3.” So, you should use the “B Blues Pentatonic” scale over that jam track. Easy enough?
In the B Blues Pentatonic scale, “B” is the root note. This means that you would start on B (7th fret, 6th string). Now, obviously you’ll need to know where “B” is on the fretboard in order to know how to play the B Pentatonic Scale. So, if you need help with the notes on the fretboard, there’s a cool, free website called http://www.visualguitar.com/.
Use the e-book “How To Solo With Pentatonic Scales” to find the right scale-pattern to use.
Please let me know if you find these jam tracks helpful by posting your comments and questions below (look for the blue “Post Comment” link below).
Also, if anybody has any recording tips for me, I’m all ears. Just post your comments below.
Take care and all the best!
Cheers,
Dan Denley
P.S. Everyone keeps asking me about the new version of the course that I’m releasing June 1. I’m going to give out more details soon. However, I will say that I’ve already decided to include several “early-bird” bonuses for the first few people who get the course. And these are going to be bonuses you can not get anywhere else.
And no, they aren’t going to be things like some lame piece of software you can download from the internet for free. They are going to be real bonuses, with real value. And the first few people to get a copy of the new course are going to be very happy.
If you want to become an “insider” and get all the details about the new release, the time-sensitive bonuses, and more, then go here to get priority notification:

Really appreciate your work. These tracks should be fun to play to.
Curious to know if you record to a click track and if so what tempos you are set at. Might try to spice these up for my students by adding drums and bass lines.
Don’t know you but sympathise with the weight issue. Seems to come with the territory (those who want to do nothing but jam all day) I also try to walk an hour a day but work tends to get in the way. Being in a band helps. Long practices and movement of equipment helps burn up the calories.

Well, from a raw & simplistic point of view, I guess these tracks are better than nothing. They would certainly have more value if they were longer and included a rhythm section for enhanced presentation.
I doubt that I’ll use them with my students as I already have far superior ones in my playback catalogue.
Concerning the obesity issue, I can’t help you much there. I’ve never had that problem. I’d imagine that showing some restraint and sensibility about your intake would be of benefit.

Hey Dan, Thanks for the beaut free stuff. I’m a novice so any help to fast track me is appreciated. Plus I’m 48 and like you, was 20 kgs too heavy and probably had about 1000 too many pizzas in my life. I had high blood pressure, and cholestorol sitting at 7. I was lucky, got a corkscrew feeling climbing stairs, took the hint my body was telling me, and within 6 weeks had undergone double bypass open heart surgery. When I was 35, I felt 55. Now I’m 48, and I feel 25. Go figure. More importantly, believe what your body tells you and for a simple start, two things, eat more veggies and really, really cut out the fats. Be a lucky one like me! Cheers mate. Phillip Tulip

HI Dan
Was just reading some of these posts and saw ya have weight problems? Just to let u know that I am NOT a fan of the Atkins Diet…. in fact I think it is potentially dangerous. Tell you why. Your body needs fuel to perform…over weight or not. Where does your body get this fuel? From carbs. If u go on a low carb diet then your body will take fuel from other stores … mostly your muscle mass since it can easily convert it into energy. Proper eating and exercise is the key my friend. Think 40% carbs, 40% proteins and 20% “GOOD” fat. Combined with a good excersise regiment of 30 - 45 minutes of cardio and weight training every other day with one day off will help maintain a do-able and healthy weight loss program. Muscle is known for its ability to burn fat calories quickly. It also helps you metabolise your food better.
Anyway I hope this bit of info helps. There is alot of good info out there online… if ya need any sites or if ya have any questions I would be happy to help. Now…. can ya teach me to play guitar???? LOL

Hi Dan,
I would like to thank you for the jam tracks that you have offered free to people - it’s great. You have brought the enthusiasm back - I now practise a lot and consecutively, as you advised in one of your videos (daily - if possible), rather than alternately or once a week. Your work is very much appreciated.
Cheers!
