Enter To Win The Fender Strat Here:

Hey folks,

I’ve decided to change the contest a little bit. The difference is this:

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY MY COURSE TO ENTER THE CONTEST!

Instructions To Enter The Contest:

1) Read the information below about the new version of the guitar-course, then…

2) Post your comment (click the blue “Post A Comment” link at the bottom of the page) and tell everyone exactly WHY you need this course and HOW you think it will improve your guitar playing (”I would learn all the major and minor scales, how to play barre chords, how to count rhythmic patterns, etc.)

I’ll get some of my friends to read all the entries and help me narrow it down three really good ones. Then you will vote for your favorite entry! (I’ll let you know exactly how to vote later.) The winner will be annouced here on the blog sometime during the week of June 12th.

Obviously, this is not a “random” contest. The three finalists will be choosen based on how well you answer the *why* and *how* questions (listed above). So, take your time when you’re posting your comment.

Note: Make sure you sign your comment with your first and last name. (You do not need to post your email address).

Here’s a “spy photo” of the course…

(Amazing Guitar Secrets, gold edition, physical version shown above)

Here’s just a few of things that you’ll learn…

  • Major chord forms, CAGED and barre chords
  • Finger strength and training for speed and accuracy
  • How to identify notes on the fretboard
  • How to play scales: minor scale, minor, harmonic minor, melodic minor, pentatonics
  • How to play 7th chords: major, minor, dominant, minor-major
  • How to use all seven modes:
  • Solo techniques: bends, vibrato, hammer owns, pull offs, tapping

Also there are going to be some “amazing” time-sensitive bonuses for the first few people who order… I haven’t nailed them all down just yet. But I do know that the first 10 people who order are going to get a 1-hour, lesson with me, personally (over the telephone).

And there’s about three or four additional “fast-mover” bonuses… Some, I’ve never offered before! I’ll let you know more details as we get closer to June 1.

So, go ahead and tell us why you need this new course and how you think it will improve your playing by posting your comment below.

Cheers!

Fender Stratocaster Giveaway And Questions Answere…

Fender Stratocaster Giveaway And Questions Answered:

Howdy, folks!

Guess what? I just stepped on the scale this morning and I’ve lost 8lbs! Just 32lbs to go. :-(
Anyway, June 1 is rapidly approaching for the release of new version of the Amazing Guitar Secrets course. I’ve been running around like a crazy-person lately trying to get everything in place. Because this event is a celebration of my 1-year anniversay since releasing the first version of the course, I wanted to do something really special….

I’ve decided to GIVE away an American made, Fender Stratocaster!

Yes. You heard me correctly. The first few people to order the new course will entered into a contest to win the Strat. The winner will be chosen at random. And I’ll make the announcement after the dust settles (probably the week of June 12th). Hopefully, I can get the winner to send me a picture with the new Strat so I can post it here on the blog. That would be cool!

I’ve gotten tons of questions lately about the new release. But, I’d say the #1 concern is this…

“I’ve bought several guitar courses online. They all suck. Why should I believe that yours is any different?”

Here’s the answer:

I realize there is a lot of garbage out on the internet. Eveyone makes claims like, “You can play ANYTHING you want in only 30 days!” And we all know that is bull-crap. (Actually, another word comes to mind but I’m trying to keep this G-rated.) So because of all the junk out there, people are naturally skeptical. (And should be).

Now, I want to be perfectly honest here…

When I released my course in June of 2005, I had know idea if anyone would actually buy it. And when I sold the first few copies, I used to litterally walk to my mailbox everyday wondering if all of them would get returned. Seriously. I’m not making this up. I was pretty much terrified that people would hate my stuff and return it for a refund.

But a month went by. Then two months went by. Then three, four, five months. And a funny thing happened…. Some people DID ask for their money back (and I cheerfully gave them a refund).

But roughly 98% kept my course.

And not only did they keep it. They actually used it. They practiced. They made great progress. And they shared their stories with me.

So, recently I did a customer survey. As of this writing, I’ve had 489 responses. I asked them lots of different questions. Here are two:

1) “Do you feel that the Amazing Guitar Secrets course was a good value for the money?”

95.9% said “Yes.”

2) “Would you recommend the Amazing Guitar Secrets course to a friend?”

95.7% said, “Yes.”

Here’s an actual video of the survey results:

Lastly, I wanted to let you know that I just finished creating some new video tutorials about the pentatonic scale. I’m thinking about releasing it to everyone for free because I’d like to get your feedback. I’ll let you know more details soon.

Take care, and all the best!

New Jam Tracks For Penatonic Scales Book: Hey fol…

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

New Jam Tracks For Penatonic Scales Book:

Hey folks, how ya’ll doin’?

Hope you’re doing well. I made a trip to see the doctor today. I had a physical. And the news was NOT good.

I’m basically 40lbs overweight, my cholesterol is too high, blood pressure is up and I’m borderline diabetic! But other than that, I’m in great shape! Sheesh.

I guess that’s what I get for eating all that lovely southern food like buttery grits, fried steak, and turnip greens with smoked, ham-hock for over thirty years. From now on it’s going to be rice-cakes and celery. Yummy. Oh well…

Anyway, I was thinking that it would be pretty cool to have some jam tracks to practice your
soloing skills. So I recorded several rhythm tracks to go along with the “How To Solo Pentatonic Scale Book” that I gave you.

How To Download The Jam Tracks:

Right-Click on the link below and choose, “Save Target As…” (or “Save Link As…” if you’re using FireFox). This will save the “jamtracks_pentatonic.zip” file to your hard drive. After the file is fully downloaded, double click it. Then choose “Extract all files” from the left side of the screen and follow the instructions. These files are .mp3’s so they’ll play using any software that can play an mp3 file. (If you’re using a Mac, you probably know what to do. But I think you’ll need a program called, “StuffIt” to open the zip file.)

Here’s The Link:

Download The Jam Tracks Here

Now, I’m not a recording guru. So, the quality of the tracks are not exactly “studio” quality. But, they will get the job done: providing you with a rhythm track to solo over.

Instructions For Using The Jam Tracks:

I’ve named each jam track by giving you a the pentatonic scale you should use. For example, one of the files is called, “b_blues_pentatonic.mp3.” So, you should use the “B Blues Pentatonic” scale over that jam track. Easy enough?

In the B Blues Pentatonic scale, “B” is the root note. This means that you would start on B (7th fret, 6th string). Now, obviously you’ll need to know where “B” is on the fretboard in order to know how to play the B Pentatonic Scale. So, if you need help with the notes on the fretboard, there’s a cool, free website called http://www.visualguitar.com/.

Use the e-book “How To Solo With Pentatonic Scales” to find the right scale-pattern to use.

Please let me know if you find these jam tracks helpful by posting your comments and questions below (look for the blue “Post Comment” link below).

Also, if anybody has any recording tips for me, I’m all ears. Just post your comments below.

Take care and all the best!

Cheers,

Dan Denley

P.S. Everyone keeps asking me about the new version of the course that I’m releasing June 1. I’m going to give out more details soon. However, I will say that I’ve already decided to include several “early-bird” bonuses for the first few people who get the course. And these are going to be bonuses you can not get anywhere else.

And no, they aren’t going to be things like some lame piece of software you can download from the internet for free. They are going to be real bonuses, with real value. And the first few people to get a copy of the new course are going to be very happy.

If you want to become an “insider” and get all the details about the new release, the time-sensitive bonuses, and more, then go here to get priority notification:

FREE, 40-Page, E-Book: “How To Solo With Pentatonic Scales”

Hey folks,

When I sent out my “What do you want to learn?” letter last month, I got soooooo many questions about scales. And because Pentatonic scales are probably the most popular (and the easiest to learn to use quickly) I thought I would just GIVE all my subscribers a copy of my book.

Keep in mind taht this is just 1 of 10 books that come with my guitar-course (not to mention the 4-hours of video, 3.5 hours of video-tutorials and the well over 100 audio files of real guitar examples).

Anyway, there are only two conditions for downloading the book:

  1. You must promise to actually use it!
  2. Please take a minute to give me your honest feedback here on the blog about the book. (Just scroll down and click the “comments” link below.)

If you find it helpful, then say so. If you don’t, I want to know why. And if you find a mistake, show me. (Actually there is at least 1 error that I know of already… can you find it?)

Now, some “gurus” wouldn’t admit they have errors in their books. But I feel like it’s better to let you know up-front that I’m not perfect (not even close). At least that way you know that I’m human, too!

Instructions for downloading the book:

Right-click on the blue-link below and choose “Save Target As…” to save a copy of the book to your hard drive. (Choose “Save Link As…” if your using FireFox).

How To Solo With Pentatonic Scales

You must have Adobe 7.0 or higher to open the book. You can download it free here.

All the best… and don’t forget to leave your comments!

P.S. A lot of people have been asking about the new course coming out June 1, 2006. They want to konw what’s new, what’s different, what’s the cost, etc. But there are still many things that have to be worked out before I can give out those details.

So, I’ve set up an easy way for people to make sure they don’t miss out. You can become one of my “insiders” and you’ll get priority-notification when I release the details about the new course. There is no cost to become an “insider” and you’re guaranteed to get “first-notice” about all the details (including the special bonuses available during the first week of June).
