Hey Dan!
I’m 40, and back in the 80’s I used to be the lead guitarist in a high school band.
anyways, not being very good at it I gave up and “grew up”.
Now, one of my 3 sons, who’s 13, wants to learn how to play guitar.
I’ve shown him what I can remember on a borrowed guitar ( i ‘ve long sold mi equipment)and he seems to have natural talent and absolutly loves Michael schencker’s guitar playing.
So this christmas, he’s getting an imitation flying v and a tiny amp so he can start learning at his own pace.
I want to get him your guitar course, but him having an older brother and a sister who are also getting presents does not allow it at the moment.
I would love to get him your course. when I was his age none of the courses available where easy to understand or any good (most where vehicles for the instructors to show you how good they were).
anyways getting him the course along with the guitar and amp he’s getting would blow him away.

If you choose me as the winner of this course, I can finally let the musician out. Ive tried to learn guitar, but find it too difficult. I dont seem to have to attention span to do it on my own. I believe this course is what I need.
If I win, I will use it per instructed and not give up until I achieve my goals.

hi dan i was wanting to win this contest because i am un able to pay for the course due to the fact that my leg is injured and i am un able to work.Ihave plenty of time to study your course and i would use it to learn how to play my guitar better.i am a beginner and i need more lessons and i here your corse is great i would love to try it .i realy want to be able to play the guitar better i know a few cords but i would love to know how to play actual songs and blow everyones mind like you do.thanks for giving me the chance to enter your contest .

Hi Dan,
I’m an old guy (50) that was a frustrated player back in the early 70’s. MY kids are all accomplished musicians and I know I have some spark left in me that yearns to escape and create something good. I’m taking lessons now and am looking for something to augment my weekly classes. I’ve got a half dozen “teach yourself” books but am finding a lack of decent theory and real life applications. Your course loks like it’s geared towards guys like me. Unfortunately I’m pretty tapped out for funds at the moment and a free course woulld really help me keep my kids school fund in the black! I’d like to use the course to help me learn to use more than just barre and open chords to get my music out there. Plus, my current teacher would really be surprised if I started showing him some new stuff that he didn’t teach me. Thanks for the free book and support material on the pentatonic scales, your method and presentation is very good, and thanks for the chance to win a whole course.

The course would be a great gift for him for Christmas. Also I leave here in Memphis and could pick it up and save the postage and shipping. One day, while searching the internet for some sort of ‘teaching course’ that i can relate to–i came across this website; and at first i said to myself: “Now why would a guy like him sell a course that is guarenteed to bring out that inner guitar player that most of us here would wanna be: Like take me for example.Yea, i may be only 15 years old and still young, but as I was once taught; Just because your young doesn’t mean you can’t accomplish any goals you set for yourself,I mean, every great artist and musician had to start somewhere! So i ran with the idea it but didn’t get very far. I tried everything! i mean: i went all out and tried taking lessons just like dan did, and it drove my mom nuts (me too)when she didn’t really see the results of my playing since the guitar lessons were a burden on my mother’s paycheck.And for years as a child all i wanted to do was play a musical instrument, since i loved music and the arts dearly, I went on to play the tromebone for my school band a couple of years during elementary and junior high, and I played guitar on and off throughtout those years so i do have some musical talent, its just i need a little push from ’something’.I also wish to have this course, cause of the drive and reach those young teens out there and give them something to look up to as young adults since what most of there actions are or relate to are from what goes into there ears and what they watch on tv.I simply want to become a great guitarist in this (christian/rock)new band that my church friends and we have put together.My friends who have came together wished for the longest time to have this band up and running and lately we haven’t been going anywhere; its like were’re at a musicians block or something.And most importantly, We really don’t have much musical knowledge besides me and a bit of the others so its very difficult to ‘pratice’ on something that’s not there.Inbetween all of this, I am the vocalists of this ‘new band’ but the thing is…I’ve forgetten most of the stuff that was taught to me.(psh,more of its that i never was taught or never understood)Its been really wobblely with it all, and since i really wanna get this band off the ground and running, were real low on finanicial items, and the members of our church are a very low (10 members or lower since the church itself was born).To wrap this up, dan, i really wish to have this course..and of all people you would understand the sitution im going thru since ALOT and i mean ALOT of people i’ve talked to about this doubt that our band will even live to see the daylight of other christian bands one day, because of the fact that our bandmembers are ‘young’ and ‘naive’ in the eyes of the adults in this world.

Dan, I am writing you this response to thank you for the free lessons you emailed and tell you that they were really helpful. I am 43 years young…HA…HA…and have always wanted to learn to play the guitar. I have friends that play the guitar and they have always told me that I should pursue my dream. I have finally taken that step forward and I must say that I wish I had taken it much sooner…but later is better than never…right? I really feel that your course would be the jumpstart I need to get my playing off the ground and rolling great! I would love to become good enough to be able to play in a band and share my music with others. My girlfirend and friends tell me that I have alot of natural talent and I am starting to see that maybe there is some truth in that. I would love to learn how to compose my own songs and your course, again….would be the perfect tool to apply to that dream! I know there are alot of others out there that could use your course just as much as me, but I am here to give my reasons for wanting to win the contest and get your course as a prize! I have alot of drive and pratice as much as my job allows me to (usually a few hours a day during the weekend and some time during the normal week.) I do have alot of drive and ambition to learn this instrument and I will master it in due time..your course would just be a extra bonus to enhance that process! Great stuff Dan, really nice work! and i am proud to report that what i have completed of your email course has helped me improve immensely. I would be very happy if i could recieve this course for noting at all… I however don’t quite yet know if i deseve it more than some of the opther people… i’ll leave the judgement up to you about that.
I began to play guitar about a year before i came across your website with this course, i was looking for something that was cheap and worked.Guitar seemed to be going no where for me… every time i seem to audition i keep gettng turned down…
any way the main reason i’m entering this contest is on the possibility to get more access to your excellent program.
I believe that your course will help me become a far better guitarist.
If i were to get your course i would use it to become a better guitarist, and perhaps put aband together sometime.. and hopefully i’ll be able to become some sort of rock star… i also have trouble with creating new things, i think that with your program i’ll be able to create new licks and maybe create a song… or hopefully an album!
i am currently in band but it seems to e going no where… but watch out for snotflikr in the near future!!! lol

Dear Dan,
I would love to have a copy of your course i feel I could learn those “missing pieces” that would greatly improve my guitar playing. I am pushing 50 years old and have been playing for two years. I had been in the music business as a vocalist when I was a kid and loved it but couldn’t make money at it. Two years ago my goal was to learn enough to play copies on a CD that I could pass on to my kids (sort of a remembrance) but fell in love with the instrument. I practice finger exercises and cords I’ve learned from Tabs in Magazines but nothing structured, and that gets me frustrated. I have scanned some courses at the book store and purchased what I thought were good interesting books but have felt there was a shortfall. I like your newsletter and I am interested on mostly all the topics you have discussed, especially with songwriting. My future goals are to improve in this area and sell songs, jingles or perform my own songs live. ( I’ve written some simple songs that have been well received mainly for the story they tell (at my age I have a lot of stories). Money’s been tight but your course may be the catalyst I need to get more immersed in the music business. I have spent the last 20 years in the retail business and would love to transition my career into something I love to do. My main goal is to be known by my peers and others as a really good professional player. That in itself will create several opportunities. I realize that such a goal for someone my age may seem crazy but I am a realist, I have known several very talented musicians that didn’t make it in this business. I have also learned from their mistakes, that discipline and commitment can’t be taken for granted. All I need is structure, which is where your course comes in.
Dan you truly are a genius using your training and skills to create this course and I am so impressed with your down to earth newsletters, no BS. You really present a caring message to the masses. I wish you much success.

I’m am intermediate level guitarist and I give free lessons to disadvantaged youth. I’ve never been formally trained and I’m having a hard time putting structure into my lessons. I’d like to learn from your course so I can pass it along.

Your course sounds great! I would love to have your course. If I had the money, I would be ordering it and not even trying to win it. I’m not a very good player at all, but I love to relax playing it. I started to play about 15 years ago. I was a vocalist in a rock band, and the guitar players showed me what I know today (which is not much). The band broke up and I moved on and got married. I adoped my husband’s 3 sons. Then we had twins 3 months early. The girl were born under two pounds each. The following day Gabrielle died. Lauren has had 7 surgeries, 4 cardiac arrests, and 15 hospitalizations (ranging from 4 days to 5 months). She is 4 years old now with severe Cerebral Palsy. Even though the Dr’s said that she would never walk and talk, she is running and talking. I also have a 15 month old daughter who has been diagnosed with a mild cerebral palsy.
I am a part time college student pursuing my teaching degree which will take another 4 years and also my sons Boy Scout Leader.
I would use this course for my relaxation at the end of my days, play for the girls (they love to dance to the 1 song that do know), and get good enough to play at Boy Scout campfires.

Dear Dan,
I am day away from being fifteen years old. Ive been interested in your course for a very long time, I would love to have your course but, Im too young to work and I just simply cant raise that kind of money. Ive played in Worship bands and Jazz Bands at my school.Ive learned alot on my own and with the lessons Ive taken but I cant seem to take my ideas and make them into music. I can play sheet music and tab fairly well and can learn artists’ songs But I cant seem to write my own. I have plenty of ideas and melodys in my head but I cant seem to make them sing on my guitar. Ive looked at several courses to try to find something to help me, I believe your course can help me. I would like your course because it can open so many doors for me in my playing that I havent been able to open before.
