Caged: TWO new videos!

June 18th, 2010

Ok, sweet! Here are TWO videos from my new course on the CAGED system that comes out on TUESDAY, JUNE 22.

This is a DVD course that will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know about CAGED chord system.

This is probably one THE most important things you can learn as a guitarist. Because it can literally increase the number of chords you can play by 500%. (Because once you understand how it works, you can play each chord FIVE different ways… and that’s just the MAJOR chords!).

There will be a FAT-DADDY discount for the first few people as well as some AWESOME fast-mover bonuses. :-)

So, check these two videos out and mark Tuesday, June 22 down on your calendar!

Cheers,

Dan Denley

Two-note solo trick (video)

December 3rd, 2009

We’re only about 11 days from the public release of my new course, Creating Simple Solos. It’s all about YOU learning to crank out killer solos using simple, easy-to-play licks and riffs. Unlike my Lead Guitar Secrets course (which is currently off the market) I do NOT go into a ton of theory in this course. The most important thing is to get you playing lead right from the start!

In this video I explain what I’m doing and then demonstrate how to play it over the jam track at about three minutes into it. Check it out…

How to solo with 5 notes!

November 19th, 2009

This text will be replaced

A few months ago I was playing around with some solo ideas… just jamming over some backing tracks. I was trying to come up with something “new.” I’d been stuck in a rut for while and I needed something to get my creative juices flowing. So, I popped in a jam track and start just playing scales…

I didn’t try to do anything fancy. I just played scales and then tried to create a few licks. And here’s the BIG “Ah-Ha!”…

I didn’t try to IMPRESS anyone. (Not even myself). I wasn’t trying to be “cool” and show off. I wasn’t the “guitar-guru” teacher. I was just playing for ME. I was enjoying playing. I was just having fun.

And something happened…

I realized that I was playing these sweet little licks that sounded great. I mean, it wasn’t like you would have said, “WOW!” or anything. It was just cool to play a few licks that really added to the music.

And the most important part? I was having a BLAST!

BUT, I began to wonder if it was just a “fluke” or if I’d stumbled upon a real technique for creating solos. So, I changed the jam track to another song. And I started the whole process over again. I found that right scale and then tried to create a nice sounding lick with just a three or four notes. Once it started sounding good, I tried to expand it a little to turn it into a full-blown solo. And it worked!

nullSo, I called up my camera guy and said, “Dude, I think I’m on to something. We need to video tape this stuff!” So, he grabbed his gear and headed over to my house. Three hours later, we had the whole thing on tape! It was amazing how easy it all just “flowed.”

Anyway, I’ve packaged up all these videos into to course called, Creating Simple Solos. I didn’t think there was any way we would be able to get it released this year. But I just got off the phone with our DVD company and it looks like we’re going to be able to have it ready in next month — December!

In fact, the printer just sent me the proofs for the course. Here’s what the DVD cover looks like. Sweet huh?

So, it looks like this course will be ready before Christmas. You might want to let Santa know that you’ve been good this year. :-)

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the video, please post your comment below, I want to hear from you!

Cheers,

Dan Denley

P.S. The new site will be here (eventually).

FREAK! (Video)

October 19th, 2009

I was helping my son find a video of Solfeggietto by C.P.E. Bach (one of J.S. Bach’s sons) because he’s learning it on piano. And I stumbled on this video.

This guy took the piece which is written for keyboard and plays it on the guitar. This is AMAZING! Check it out…

Cheers,

Dan Denley

P.S. I’m releasing a NEW version of my Lead Guitar Secrets course very soon. If want to learn to shred like the dude above, then you’ll definitely want to check it out. I’ll be releasing some killer videos from that course very soon. So, check your inbox often. ;-)

How to play a blues solo (video)

September 15th, 2009

HOT NEWS! Finally, an EASY way to learn how to solo! One of the #1 problems for most guitarists is that once they learn scales, they can’t make the leap to actually playing a solo. We’ll I’ve finally figured out a way to solve that challenge!

It’s called, “50 Must-Know Blues Licks.” And it’s my new course.

CLICK HERE to check it out!

Here’s the method… Basically, I teach you 50 “must-know” blues licks which all come from the pentatonic scale. I explain how those licks are related to the scale so you understand WHAT your playing WHY. Then, I take the 50 licks and show you how to “cut-and-paste” them together to great an amazing solo. It’s easy!

This course is super-affordable because I don’t want anyone to get left out because of the price.

Here’s a video from my 50 Must-Know Blues Licks course
